This year has seen another 'milestone' in the long history of Cwmbach Male Choir with the publication of a book on the Choir's history entitled " 80 YEARS OF SONG".

The book which has been written by choir Publicity Officer Leslie Sims and Chorister John Isaac was launched in January by BBC presenter Roy Noble, who in his address mentioned that "Cwmbach was arguably one of the finest choirs in Wales and that music was what the Welsh Valleys were all about".

The book maps out the choir's history from its humble beginnings in the early 1920's to the present day, and although it's prime aim is to be a factual account of the choir's history, it also intended to be a good 'read' and contains many humorous accounts of the day to day happenings within a busy choir, and also stories about the many characters and comedians, which arise when a large group of men get together.

Since the books publication it has had several good reviews in both the local press and in the book review section of the Western Mail's Saturday Magazine where the reviewer wrote that the book was "essential reading for any one with the remotest interest in Welsh music making, and will be an asset to present and future generations of musical history lovers as it expertly catalogues the choirs rise to the highest of musical leagues."
